Create New Reservations
Overview:

Before a reservationist can create a new reservation, the mailing list
must be searched in order to determine if the customer is already in
the Mailing List.

The Search Mailing List program is automatically started
to aid the reservationist's search.  This is done in hopes of reducing
duplicates.

Once the proper name and address have been found or entered then the
reservationist should select the "Rsv" button to actually start a
new reservation.

Reservation# When making a new reservation the reservation number
is automatically assigned.

Customer# When making a new reservation the customer number selected
or entered in the mailing list program is automatically brought over to
the reservation.

Status This field is not modifiable.  All active reservations have
a status of "A".  Cancelled reservations have a status of "X".

Taxable By default all reservations are taxable.  If for some reason
the reservation is not to be taxed then enter a "N".  Even if "N" is entered
any Tax Codes that have an Exemptable flag of "N" are still charged.

Commission% If this reservation is commissionable then enter the
commission rate.  The commission will only apply to items that had the
commission flag set to Y in the setup.  If a rate automatically appears it is
because there is a commission rate in the Mailing List record
for this customer.

Payable To If a commission rate was entered in the previous field
then the customer number of the person receiving the commission must be
entered here.  The default is the Customer# from above.

If the Payable To is the same number as the Customer# of the reservation
then the commission is subtracted from the reservation amount payable.

Bill To If a Payable To is entered then you can enter who is to
be billed for the reservation.  The choices are C, which means the customer
is billed, or P, which means the Payable To is billed.  If there is no
entry in Payable To, then the Bill To defaults to C.

Area If you are using Areas then you must select an area code.

Clnt Lst/Fst You may enter the last and first name of the client
if this reservation was made by a travel agent.  This name will appear
on certain reports.

Company If you are using Multi Company Codes then you will need to enter a company code.

Date This is the arrival date, the earliest date of any item booked
on the reservation.  This field is not modifiable.

Grp Sz This is the group size.  This field is not modifiable.
Occasionally this field is wrong.  It is calculated with the assumption
that if there is more than one activity on a reservation on the same day
that there are 2 groups of people and the group size is the addition of
the 2 groups.  If there is more than one activity over multiple days the
assumption is that it is the same group and the largest number of people
participating in any one activity is the group size.
